Conference Members, World Leaders,
It seems undeniably apparent at this juncture in civilized mans history that, for the majority of humans, greed has replaced concern, selfishness has replaced care, money has replaced honor, and lies have replaced truth. Sadly, in some cases, even the awareness of the natural order of LIFE, and the conservational balance that is needed to maintain this Life, for not only mankind and it's future generations, but for all life forms and the mandatory elements needed for ALL Life to exist and flourish, is steadily approaching deafness, dumbness, and blindness. The Bond between most humans and Animals, most humans and our Mother Earth, "The Soil", has lost it's cohesion: The essential understanding of the need for a non-destructive harmonious balance- a balance without which there can be no everlasting sustainability for any living thing on this beautiful Earth.
This "essential understanding" seems to be being taught out of the instinctual nature of our childrens minds, with a global, social curriculum of separation from the natural world: the Air, the Trees, the Water, and the Animals.
I would suggest strongly teaching the children of the importance of our intrinsic duties to the preservation of the natural life support systems of the Earth, which include the Trees and the Air they help provide through photosynthesis, the Oceans, the Animals, and this systems need of every last one of them, for they each have their place and duty in regard to the balance, and the need of regulation and protection in regard to our Air and our Water.
In the pursuit of easier living and comfort the arbiters of the cult of progress have taken leaps in the wrong direction forward, without any regard of future implications these leaps may have for a sustainable existence. The effects of which are already being felt on a worldly scale.
In a relatively short span of years, among these tides of progress, the planet has already lost so many natural resources, too many animals, and bugs (along with the habitats they need in order to live), too many old growth forests, and too many of our relatives of the seas. Countless species are gone forever, extinct. And the rest are being depleted to what many feel is a genocidal degree. The "civilized" think of this death as some kind of evolution, but it is clearly, and completely, the absolute opposite- it is a set course for the annihilation of ALL Life on this planet. All it takes to see this clearly is to wipe the dust, or pollution, out of our eyes.
I know full well that there is no way to undo the atrocities inflicted upon the Earth, and ALL it's inhabitants, in the past- No way of righting the wrongs that have us in our present: The 11th hour. I believe there is only one way of changing the way we do things from right now into the present, in order to bring about any kind of redemption for what has been done by the predecessors of poor decisions and policy. But this takes not only hard work from each of us, as a cell- to an entity, as each part- of a whole body, but absolute sacrificing of our attachments to these progresses and creature comforts we have grown so accustomed to. The belief in "I", "me", and "you" needs to be eradicated. And the understanding that there is only ONE needs to be brought back from the graveyards. Back from the graves of tribes, societies, brotherhoods, sisterhoods.
Otherwise this whole conference on climate change is just another charade of world powers of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries false concerns and appeasements. Just Another attempt at control and manipulation of poor, impoverished countries, while still blatantly dismissing oppressions and occupations that have been going on unchecked for many decades. A smoke screen under the flag of "green", and under the guise of "renewable energy" innovations, and a race to corner world economies involved in all the technologies that will harness this new market. Hegemonistic propaganda at best.
It is all ignominious unless an Order of Knights for Air, Trees, Water, and Animals is instated, or an International Earth Crimes Tribunal Court is created in order to protect every living thing on this Earth, with strict, omnipotent regulations, codes, and laws, implemented that no amount of money can corrupt, buy, pander, or lobby to.
Until such conviction and courage is shown and resurrected I cannot, and will not, accept, nor believe, that any room full of politicians brandishing such ideals as capitalism, communism, democracy and freedom, with the recorded history of such ideals, will do what is honorable and ensure that any form of justice will ever be imposed upon the Earths transgressors, other than the fines of the past. The fines given to large corporations for their many heinous crimes of polluting, poisoning, destroying, murder. These monetary penalties of the money ways fall short- and should in no way whatsoever be considered any kind of "justice".
The delicate balance of ALL Life is in, and has been in, jeopardy - the Air, the Trees, the Water and the Animals, which happens to include the Animals attending this convention. This attending species of mammal, the homo sapien, has the intelligence to send men to the moon, and to fly to Denmark in a jet within a matter of hours, and yet cannot see, or chooses to deny and argue the degree of responsibility it is guilty of, as the sole harbinger of ALL other Life Forms inevitable demise.
No one need speak of the long list of facts and statistics of the irreversible damage already done to the natural order, or whether climate change is real or not, any longer. There are only actions left to execute. There is no denying the "evidence". I witness it, I breath it, I taste it, and I smell it, each and every day. Those who deny it have only an agenda of absolute insignificance when scaled against clean,
breathable air, and free, drinkable water, and trees and green things, and every animals right to live.
To have any kind of optimism, or faith, in the "solutions" that this conference may come up with, especially in light of the recent "leaks" of "texts", would be very unrealistic on any aware persons part. And so, as witness to many who have spoken out decades ago about the crisis that is now being so opportunely focused on, only to be silenced in one way or another, and as witness to what other "conventions" have fallen short of, I hold no optimism, or faith, in the "United Nations Climate Change Conference 2009's" ability to bring about any kind of "change" that doesn't have many strings with dollar signs attached to them.
